Patents

Peter Johns started his research activities in 1990, initially looking at  the possibilities of eliminating firescale in Sterling Silver.  In that period he received 9 research grants.   Within a short time the first objective was achieved and this success inspired Johns to investigate the effects of altering the silver alloys.  This led to further associated research activities.

The first patent for the silver/germanium alloys, “Novel Silver-based Ternary Alloy”, was filed in 1991.  The Argentium Silver research has consistently been developing Intellectual Property, which now covers a range of alloys and processes.  Patents are granted and pending in Europe, the USA and Internationally.
